Mardi Gras Track Club Administration Staff
The following volunteers help administer the staff and atheletes of the Mardi Gras Track Club.
Through their many years of dedicated effort to the prograss and support of track and field, they lend they support to the dorection and growth of our local atheletes.
 Honorary Past President.... Coach Ronnie Doyle Coach Ronnie Doyle has been a mentor, friend and coach to thousands of athletes in his career at Rummel High School in Metairie, Louisiana. Coach Doyle recruited the help of coaches and parent volunteers in the mid 1970's to form one of Louisiana's largest track and field organization. Members of the MGTC regularly competed in local, regional and national competiton under the direction and coaching of his staff and volunteers. By organizing local coaches, parents and volunteers, the MGTC became a regional powerhouse of track and field competitors. Many of coach Doyle's athletes moved on to become university competitors and leaders in their respective events. Coach Doyle now lends his many years of experience to the administrative efforts of the Mardi Gras Track Club.
 Director of Coaching.....Doug Fraley. Doug was a 3 time NCAA pole vault champion while competing for Fresno State University from 1984 thru 1987. He competed on the European Grand Prix Circuit from 1986 thru 1994. He placed 6th at the 1992 Olympic Trials at Tad Gormley Stadium. His career best vault of 19'1/4" came
in Sestriere, Italy in 1992.
Doug is a member of the USA Track & Field national pole vault
development staff.
Dougs father, Bob fraley, is the head track coach at Fresno State and is the
national director for pole vault development.
Doug relocated from California in 1995 to partner with Dr. Bill Batherson at
Spine Care of Metairie. Doug's kean knowledge and technical expertise is the backbone of the MGTC pole vault coaching consortium.
 President of Administration.....Mark Rose. Alumini member of Mardi Gras Track & Field Team 1975-1979. Mark was the co holder of the Louisiana State composite state record with teammate Greg Duplantis. Mark was also a member of the National Championship team of the Mardi Gras Track Club that won the National Championship at the University of New Mexico in 1977. Mark competed in college at LSU, is a 4 year letterman and is the 1983 SEC Indoor Pole Vault Champion and has a personal best in the pole vault of 17'9". Mark currently helps facilitate the practice sessions of the athletes and administers meet coordination.
 Legal Council.....Greg Duplantis.Greg was also part of the founding track club membership in the late 1970's. Greg was a member of the United States National Track and Field Teams, 1988-1993; the Reebok World Racing Club, 1988-1993; the Athletics Congress, 1986-1993; and International Amateur Athletics Federation, 1986-1993. In addition, he was a U.S. Olympics Trials Qualifier in 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996. He was a professional track and field athlete from 1986-1993 and was named a scholar athlete and All American pole vaulter in 1979-1981, 1986. Greg is fluent in Swedish.Greg has a personal best in the pole vault of 19'2".
Greg is currently an attorney in the law firm of Gordon, Arata, McCollam, Duplantis & Eagan, LLP in Lafayette, Louisiana and a member of the 1975- 1979 Mardi Gras Track Club program. Greg's practice centers on oil and gas property title examination and contracts as well as oil and gas and general business litigation. Greg also frequently represents clients before Louisiana state agencies governing oil and gas matters, including unitization issues, state leasing and pipelines.
 Administrative Council.....John Boyer. John's many years as the National Director of Track and Field for the AAU and the Meet Director of the AAU Junior Olympic Track and Field Games has added 40 years of coaching, administering and facilitating the sport of Track and Field to our administration staff. John's unique involvment in the development of facilties, programs and athletes lends himself to the Administrative Staff of the Mardi Gras Track Club.His envolvmentment in New Orleans hosting the 1992 Olympic Trials, 1996 USATF Nationals and the 2005 National Junior Olympics brings an advisory expertise to the consortium of volunteers the our club.
 Mike Corn,20 + years coaching experience, Holy Cross High School, Rummel High School, Covington High School, Tulane University.
National Level Track & Field Official
- Served as an official at the ’92 & ’96 Olympic Trials, ’93 NCAA Championships, ’96 Olympic Games, ’98 USA Championships
National Director of Schools of the USA Track & Field Coaching Education program 1997 - present.
Instructor in the Level I and Level II programs.
Level II Certified in Endurance Events & Jumps.
Level III Certified in Endurance.
Meet Director of the Nokia Sugar Bowl Track & Field Classic since its inception in 1993.
